Match Day Charity: Wa Initiative

Rork Projects launched the Wa initiative – an initiative to implement
positive future change through education and empowerment of
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Wa (pronounced wah) is a word in the Torres Strait language of Kala
Lagaw Ya and also in Torres Strait Creole meaning yes and Rork
Projects believe that by supporting education – Indigenous
communities, families and students can say yes to having a positive attitude
future that leads to better outcomes for their families, community
and for the nation.

They support other Indigenous foundations and non-profits
organizations in their work to provide quality secondary education
scholarships at Australia’s leading boarding schools for aboriginals
children from regional, rural and remote communities.

Proceeds from our Round 15 50-50 Charity Raffle will go to our Game Day charity, The Wa Initiative. Raffle tickets will be available online and can be purchased in-game, with 50% of the prize pool going to a lucky winner and the remaining amount to charity.

Raffle tickets can be purchased online via and at the game on Sunday afternoon.

The lucky winner will be drawn in the second half of the NRL Round 15 match, Raiders v Knights.

Purchase of tickets

Non-member tickets can be purchased via Ticketek:
Tickets will be available at the door; however, we strongly encourage
everyone to pre-purchase online to facilitate entry and avoid having
wait in queues.

Collecting tickets

Any ticket holder who cannot find the ticket they purchased via
Ticketek can go to the Ticketek Box Office to have their ticket reissued.
Proof of identity will be required to print replacement tickets
for the day.

Customers who throw away items or enter the field of
playing will be expelled and may be subject to prosecution. Fines of up to
$8000 applies.

Car park

Paid parking is in place for this game at $10 per vehicle. Up early
parking is applicable at $5 per vehicle up to 45 minutes before the NRL
to start up.

Additional parking is available from 2pm at the University of Canberra accessed via College St and buses will have some pick up capacity on College St, a 20 minute walk from the stadium. Please consider carpooling to reduce traffic congestion as parking will be limited.
